As a note I'm still experiencing this issue on Lightning 1.0b2 with Zimbra. In fact, using lightning with more than one account on the same Zimbra server would seem to be entirely broken.

If I add a second calendar, the first calendar breaks, and can only be fixed by deleting and recreating it. At which point the second calendar breaks.
