Cannot have a bug targetted only to an old series

If I want a bug only targeted to natty, I (as a bug supervisor) should be able to do that. The report a bug link implies that I can do such a thing, but redirects to the general package page, not the series specific one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/natty/+source/firefox/+filebug

If more series are required, they can be nominated.
In bugs like Bug #857098, we end up with a lot of wasted bug tasks.

Actually, I misunderstood. I think I get it now:
the invalidated tasks are 'ubuntu' tasks, the fix released ones are 'natty' ones - note that one is a distro context, the other distroseries.

So, seriesonlytasks would help this, because you could file on precise and retarget to natty (rather than nominating to natty).

If we don't move to a series-bugtask model, we simply have to make it easy to file such bugs from distro series page. (No redirect, simply create the generic and series task right away.)

I think we need to fix bug 110195 with this bug because when the user does not have permission to target to a series, a nomination is created. I think the intent of this bug is to focus work on one package, but secondary rules will continue to cause multiple targets to be created.
