When a bug is reported on a particular product, distribution, or package, its bug contacts are indirectly subscribed.

When the bug is marked Rejected for that product, distribution, or package, its bug contacts should be unsubscribed the same way.

This would eliminate a lot of unwanted mail -- for example, messages to the launchpad-bugs@ mailing lists about bugs that weren't anything to do with Launchpad, and messages to the ubuntu-doc@ mailing list about bugs that weren't anything to do with the Ubuntu documentation.

If the reporter or other direct subscribers want to regain the attention of a product's/distribution's/package's bug contact, all they need do is change the bug report from Rejected to something else.
