Please get rid of the status updates in the comment section. Who, why and how the status messages of a bug are of interest to very few, so why not move them to a special section?
In a long discussion, where many participants have fiddled with the status etc. settings of the bug, those status messages can take up quite a lot of space, you have to scroll past them, and it disturbs the discussion thread.
