Sorting doesn't rule out any number of bugs. If we could specify a date range like I suggested, we could drastically filter the number of results a given "advanced search" would return.
Example 1:
"Package: nvidia"
"Date: Newer than 1 month ago"
...returns any nvidia bugs opened under a month ago. Now, if we had a package that has thousands of bugs, this feature could reduce the returned results from, for example, 100 pages to 5 pages. In combination with other search functions, it could be as specific as possible.
