The standard practice on Launchpad is (should be) to create a team per project, not to have it owned by a single person.

To do this when registering a new project you must:

* click 'create project' on the homepage, so far so good
* fill in a few fields about the project, go through the project dupe finder, also ok
* now you're left at eg <https://edge.launchpad.net/bzr-website> and it looks like you're done, but this isn't actually where you want to leave it. To change this you must then
* click 'change details'
* scroll right down to the end of <https://edge.launchpad.net/bzr-website/+edit> and click 'change people'
* click 'register a new team'
* fill in the form that's longer than the one for registering a project

Perhaps during project registration Launchpad should handle the common case by saying:

 (*) make a new team for this project (recommended) called [myproject-dev]
 ( ) use an existing team [.. all my teams listed .. ]
 ( ) own the project myself for now
