I am accepting this bug because users are using offsite tools to route emails to accomplish this scenario. I think this scenario is hack to deal with the fact that Launchpad does a poor job of dispatching mail and choosing who to send it to. I think permitting shared email addresses would make the situation worse.
To implement this someone must first fix the many things that are fundamentally wrong with Launchpad and teams (accounts + email addresses + teams + ACL + mailing lists). The minimum work is:
1. Separate team email addresses from account email addresses.
2. Give teams full access to, and management of, their current and past email addresses.
3. Separate mailing lists from teams
