hard to navigate to milestone bug page

I want to find all the bugs that are targeted to be fixed in the next release of Bazaar. A very nice view of them is available at <https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bzr/+milestone/1.16> but I can't see any way to navigate there from <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr>.

That page does contain a portlet of "series-targeted bugs", but this is actually a distraction because we don't series-target most bugs unless they need to be backported. (Also, most of the series displayed there are now obsolete, and most of them have zero bugs.) I think most upstream projects will be similar. Clicking one of them takes you to eg <https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bzr/0.9/+bugs> which is a dead end, and misleading: it looks like it'll show you the bugs to be fixed in 1.16, but it actually shows no content.

It turns out that to get to the milestone page you need to go back to the project overview, and then it's below the fold. This makes some sense in Launchpad's internal model that the milestone is an attribute of the project, but doesn't make sense to the user who's thinking about organizing their bugs.

What I'd like to see is: on the bugs overview page, links to the milestone pages for upcoming releases, perhaps in a portlet.

We should catch this in our 3.0 UI updates. I think a portlet like the series-targeted bugs for milestones would be nice.

Fixing bug 364712 would help the other issues Martin mentions here (namely bzr not using series targets).

If it's not too much trouble could you put a screenshot in the bug
when things like this are fixed? I suspect it would cut cycle time in
getting user agreement on whether it's really fixed or not- something
like 20% of bugs like this (that I've seen) get reopened for that
reason.

Here's a screenshot. This uses the distro bugs page, I believe, since that page was converted locally for me and the bugs home hasn't landed yet. The bugs home, i.e. bugs.launchpad.net/bzr, will also have the same style milestone links portlet, if a milestone has any open bugs. Just the same as series portlets on edge work now.

That looks great, thanks.

It does look like the bug count columns are misaligned for series and
milestones vs the others, but that could be a different bug.
