Ok, I am able to test this on staging, and the problem is not resolved.
If added manually (using SQL) to my account, "Australian languages" is not shown among preferred languages (neither in portlet, nor in preferences), but it's shown in eg. https:/
So, the problem is that preferred languages are already restricted to only visible ones, except on the translations page. So, need to fix this to show even non-visible languages in portlets and preferences (so one can remove them).
