Launchpad should provide opensearch descriptions so that people can easily add LP to the list of search engines in their browser.
There are several already available at http://mycroft.mozdev.org
I just created one for the main Launchpad search (ref #27834). There are also descriptions for Bug search, Ubuntu packages, etc.
To add to launchpad, just add the following in the <head> section:
