Bug Description

While reporting a bug for samba-common, I had to instead report it for samba because launchpad thinks there is no such package as samba-common.

Hi Mark,

thanks for the report. Can you provide the URL you used to file the bug? I think this might be a dupe of bug 157602 or bug 66930.
Cheers

I clicked choose; then I searched for samba, and it was not found.

When I originally reported the bug, it couldn't find samba-common either. I don't know why.

In case you misunderstand me, samba was found, samba-common was not.

Bugs are only filed against source packages. samba-common is a binary package, not a source package, so if you report a bug against it the bug is automagically filed against samba. There was a bug about this a few weeks ago but I believe Bjorn fixed it.
