Bug Description
Lex Hider wrote to launchpad-users@ after being seemingly unable to report a bug on konqueror. The standard Ubuntu filebug link:
https:/
will accept konqueror and convert the binary package name to its source package (kdebase), but Lex didn't find this. He said:
<lex>
I went to:
https:/
and searched for package konqueror:
https:/
As there was no konqueror in the results I went through to kdebase, and hit
the link "report a bug".
https:/
</lex>
There is too much stuff on the distribution homepage, most of it not targeted at goal-driven users, and there's no link to the standard bug filing form.
Any more thought on this? The https:/ /launchpad. net/ubuntu/ +search? text= pages can be a real mess and I often completely miss what I'm looking for, especially for source packages that have a large number of binary packages. KDE packages are a good example. I think the +search?text= pages just try to give too much info at once. Rather than listing every binary package for every release for every source package match, how about something like:
(for https:/ /launchpad. net/ubuntu/ +search? text=qt4- designer )
Source Package Matches:
* [qt4-11] in Ubuntu builds binary package [qt4-designer]
[gutsy] [feisty] [edgy] [dapper] [breezy]
* [qt4-11-kdecopy] in Ubuntu builds binary package [qt4-designer- kdecopy]
[gutsy] [feisty] [edgy]
* [qtractor] in Ubuntu <reason for matching> (I couldn't find why this shows up)
[gutsy]
