Please allow users to remove series in projects

The product gajim has an upstream inexisting series names "0.8 (Stable)". I'm not able to remove the series. Could someone either 1) Remove that branch, or 2) Add an option do to that?

I also would like to be able to delete a product series. If you don't want to add this feature, an alternative would be to add a button which automatically opens a ticket request and asks the user to give reasons.

At UbuntuStudio, we have two product series that are no longer to be used. This is currently impossible, and I'm sure there are many people that would like this fixed. If you look at the ubuntustudio product, then you may see why. These were a mistake by me, and it is now my responsibility to see this fixed. However, I now feel bad that I can't; and am unfortuantely stuck against this block.

As a stopgap measure, it should be possible for admins to assign productseries to an inactive product such as "unassigned" (id=2). This product was historically created for another purpose, so maybe a specific inactive product "deleted" should be created for this purpose.

Bug 574 currently prevents admins from moving series to this product.

We are using as a workaround reassignment to the obsolete-junk product, which can be done by anyone in the vcs-imports team.

Please fix the permissions for this action. This should require admin, not vcs-imports membership.

I second David's opinion. I should be able to reassign the releases that I wrongly created to obsolete-jun.

I meant "admin" as in Launchpad Administrator.

Product owner should maybe be allowed to perform those administrative tasks, but this is different issue.

I found out that one only delete a branch when it is empty.

If I create a branch with no files = it can be created from the menu on the left

If I put files into that branch (commit) = nothing can be commited

If I uncommit all revisions I can again delet the branch.

Tim, this bug report is about deleting project series, not about deleting branches.
