I want to give the distroseries drivers the same power as project series drivers (release managers).
The power to edit the status clearly belongs to the Launchpad admin. I don't think this is right.
I think any person/team that is set to be the driver of a series, such as karmic, should have the power to edit:
Displayname
Title
Summary
Description
Plus these two field not listed on the edit screen
Email address for changes (I don't think there is harm is allowing the driver to change this)
status (because only the driver knows the status)
My assumption is that the ~ubuntu-drivers team are trusted to manage their releases. The team currently has 33 members, 15 direct and 18 from ~communitycouncil, ~techboard, and ~uds-organizers. If ~ubuntu-driver has too many people, then I suggest that an ubuntu-release-managers team be created and assigned to the series driver role.
