Bug Description

Looking at a launchpad bug shows the body of the bug is a very thin (1/3 screen width?) column when held vertically.

Rotating device to landscape mode shows a wider display, but only ~60% of the screen width is used.

Testing on krillin, I’m seeing the issue reported when in portrait orientation, but not when in landscape orientation.

This seems to be an oxide issue, as changing the default UA to that of Chrome on Android (on a Galaxy Nexus) doesn’t improve the rendering, whereas Chrome on Android does render it better.

Does Launchpad make use of window.screen.orientation?

If I open this bug report in Chrome desktop in the responsive design view with a resolution of 332x591 (which is the screen size in DIP on krillin), I see exactly the same layout issue. The layout improves as the available width increases, which is why it works better in landscape mode.

This is probably more of a Launchpad design bug than a bug in Oxide

Ah, right, it was probably looking better on my android device only because the screen has a higher resolution.
