summary |
duplicate bugmail when a bug contact gets personally subscribed/assigned to a bug |
mail for new bugs inconsistent with other bug mail (ignores mail-on-my-actions disabled, missing footers, duplicate mail vs structural subscriptions) |

I get bugmail as bug contact for a number of products (e.g. ubuntu-doc, ubuntu-website). Later, if me (or a team I'm in) is assigned to the bug, I get duplicate bugmail for it. This is confusing: Launchpad should detect that I've already had the email and not send it again.
I'll attach two emails which come from bug 124094 as an example. |

Analysis
========
lp.bugs.mail.newbug doesn't use the normal bug notification email templates or code.
This means newbug's emails lack important features like:
* Honouring the mail-on-my-actions flag
* Generating correct unsubscribe footers
* De-duplicating subscribers against structural subscriptions |
