Searching for a solution for making window positions permanent, I found lots of instructions on "window rules". Some months, and some researchers later I find this bug and see it is open from 2000.
- Is there an official choice/policy on NOT doing a "remember all window positions"? If so, these bugs should be closed as WONTFIS
- Is there an implementation difficulty? If so, it would be very nice to hear this from developers.
- Is the only thing that we lack is manpower and developer interest ? The issue can be proposed in Summer of code, or a call-to-arms can be published on developer blogs to implement this highly wanted feature.
