Changing the text to match the current behavior is good for me.
I am strongly opposed to blindly update all footprints: this is the best way to break a design.
For many reasons, the footprints on the board can be slightly different from the library.
For instance after updating a library.
It can easily happen when a board is slightly modified 2 years later...
We already know that with Eeschema.
And most of time because a footprint can be slightly modified on the board (pad shape, 3D model ...) for mechanical or electrical reasons.
