I, too, think that eeschema should behave like pcbnew. Especially because it behaved like this (cursor position says which item is acted upon) earlier before eemodern.

And restoring previous group selection would be a good feature. Sometimes I spend considerable time selecting and deselecting items (in pcbnew) to get the desired selection group. It's quite offpissing when it gets lost. With this change - which I quickly tested and found otherwise feeling good - accidental loosing of selection will certainly happen more often.
