Anton i feel you misunderstood my request. It is not about locking the absolute position of the footprint inside the layout. Not even about locking the absolute position of any footprint element inside the layout.

I request a lock for the relative position between footprint assets (text fields in this case) and the footprint itself. (Meaning i want to be able to move the footprint around freely in pcb_new but i want to be able to ensure that some text fields are not movable without moving the full footprint. Right now something like this is only implemented for pads as there is a setting for locking pad positions relative to the footprint. But i would even here see a benefit of being able to control this on a per pad basis in the library editor.)
