I appreciate any help I can get on this. I am trying to build from source because I want to make a version of PCBNew with my RenumKiCadPCB function built in as a tool.

RenumKiCadPCB renumbers reference designations on the PCB geographically and back-annotates the schematic and netlist.

If I can accomplish that, despite my limited knowledge of c++, perhaps I can demonstrate it is a worthy function.

But if I can't build KiCad I can't get started. I'd prefer to not have to work in Linux because I'd have to install the OS and do most of my work in Windows anyway.
