Please do not hard code any spice init options and make them
configurable because there are many options that are going to be
platform and system dependent. I would still like to pursue the
packaging solution before we put too much effort and add potentially
unnecessary code. On windows it was a simple configuration issue and it
appears that this may also be the case on osx.
