@jp-charras, Maybe need save height and width of dialog window at close event. In next openning of dialog manual set him his previously saved height and width.
P.s. It's annoying. Maybe it is issue of the window manager but Kicad users will see incorrect behaviour in Kicad and Kicad karma will be increasing :).
