One thing that happens is that if you adjust the preference for default line thickness to be larger than the junction size, then the wires will be larger than the junctions, and hence the junctions will be invisible.
Even if there weren't a separate setting for it, at the very least I think that the nodes should auto-adjust to be no less than (say) twice the size of the wires.
This bug affects me in two separate ways. I am converting some legacy schematics into KiCad which have very large sheet sizes, and hence need thicker wires as well, and thus junctions that are larger than the wires. But beyond that, the junctions created by KiCad simply are much smaller in appearance than the junctions on the old, legacy drawings.
However, I can imagine other reasons why you'd want really bit drawings with really fat wires too. If, say, you were making a schematic of a simple circuit that you wanted to hang on the wall, so as to be able to see it from a lab bench at all times, you'd need it to be much bigger and bolder than a typical schematic.
