Just a point here, I am testing the search functionalities now. So, opinion: I was hopping just one single search text box in the "Footprint Library Browser" (lp:1783753) that look for the text into all the libraries loaded.
And, after I type some word restrictive enough to get just ONE result, that this get selected and just hitting <Enter> I could select it. This will minimize the necessity of mouse movements by the user.
