Hi,
Just some comments since I was working on this too. So far I've just got the same solution as Peng Yong (no exactly the same implementation, but very close) and I don't like this "pessimistic ask permission approach"; however it seems to be the only working solution. Peng Yong I've saw your patches and your comments on git review, why don't you use just "select 1" instead of "select now()"?
