What should someone do in the case this is hit in production ?

Fernet could be used, but the migration can take some time. What to do in the meantime ?

On the other hand, nobody has hit this in production yet (at least not reported publicly).
Should we mark this as won't fix for now rather than working in a fix that is not useful for anyone now ?
