I completed the upgrade test and it worked fine. I used a focal Standard_A2_v2 instance, which by default was created with the kernel 5.13.0-1031-azure.

After enabling focal-proposed in /etc/apt/source.list and running the following commands:

# apt update
# apt install linux-azure
# reboot

The machine booted fine with the 5.15 kernel:

azure@selfprovisioned-mhcerri-5:~$ uname -r
5.15.0-1014-azure
