In Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.2 I can say that these features work:
1) When typing in Firefox addressbar with dropdown active, I can switch keyboard layouts with Shift-Alt
2) When typing in Konqueror addressbar with dropdown active, I can switch keyboard layouts with Shift-Alt
3) When typing in Konqueror addressbar with dropdown active, I can switch windows with Atl-Tab
4) When typing in Konqueror addressbar with dropdown active, I can open krunner with Alt-F2
5) When searching in Lancelot's Applications menu, I can switch languages with Shift-Alt
6) When searching in Lancelot's Applications menu, I can switch windows with Atl-Tab

And these features do not work:
1) When typing in Firefox addressbar with dropdown active, I can not switch windows with Atl-Tab
2) When typing in Firefox addressbar with dropdown active, I can not open krunner with Alt-F2
