We found that doctotext provides a wrapper script that sets up the binary path.
Using this would make sense for us since this also allows for abstracting
platform-specific settings (e.g. for OS X) away.

We think we got a reasonable setup that can be used with setting PATH but
leaving LD_LIBRARY_PATH as of this:
