Further research indicates that where there are logical volumes on say a RAID controller, the controller is identified by the WWN and each volume by the extended vendor WWN. So if there's an extended WWN there, we'll use that since it seems that's how the volume is referenced under /dev/disk/by-id and hence is what's reported by MAAS.
