freeze when trying to record from USB microphone

There's so many bugs with similar keywords, not sure if mine is a duplicate or not, but here goes:

- usb microphone, set as the default pulseaudio recording device, works fine with other apps
- jokosher from bzr
- blank project, add a voice instrument, hit record: jokosher freezes

I have the same bug on version 11.3 in Karmic Ubuntu, however I'm just using the mic in my macbook pro 3.1 which may be an internal usb device... I'm not sure

Can you get a gstreamer debug log (level 4 or 5) for this? Also if its locking up hard and you have a gstreamer with symbols compiled in can you try and get a stack trace in gdb?

Ok, so this was initially filed when I was mistakenly using the systemwide jokosher. Now with trunk jokosher, the resulting behavior is slightly different:
- hitting record doesn't freeze jokosher, but starts recording without actually recording any data (the waveform is blank)
- you end up with an error dialog when you un-toggle the record button

Here is the output of GST_DEBUG=4 ./Jokosher > ~/debug.log 2>&1;
I figured that gst level 5 would be way too much
