Rygle, I think the best choice now is the simplest patch that gives acceptable output. Inkscape 0.46 is already delayed due to windows specific bugs.. ( If you have a chance to also test the patches for bug #187290 that would be great :)

Yes, you could bypass the gtk printer dialog and have better output, but the dialog interacts badly with Inkscape. Try this patch and drag the printer dialog around and see. Fixing this too means adding yet more code that will not be tested enough before release.. (and up til now none of this code has been checked to not break non-windows versions!)
