Bug Description
0.48.2 r9819
Windows 7 x64 RTM
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any non svg file in Inkscape that has an extra "." in the file name (example file name: 88.xx.jpg)
2. Once you have linked or embedded (doesn't matter which) the image and it's shown in Inkscape, go to "File > Save As..."
3. When the "Save As" window shows up, go and hit the "Save" button to save the file as a SVG.
What happens:
When you load the folder you saved the new "SVG" file in it, Inkscape failed to give it the "*.svg" ending. (88.xx is what Inkscape saves it as.) This isn't like how other files are saved (example: 88.jpg automatically would save as 88.svg in "Save As" if SVG format was selected).
What should happen:
Inkscape should have given the new svg the file name of "88.xx.svg" just like other files that don't have the extra "." in them.
---
Normally, when you open a JPG (or other image type) in Inkscape and go to "File > Save As..." and hit the save button, Inkscape will always give the newly saved file the proper "*.svg" ending (if you selected that type of file).
Workaround: You need to manually add the "*.svg" to the file name when doing the "Save As".
Don't know if this is an Inkscape specific problem, or a GTK bug.
