This does in fact help me accomplish exactly what I want, and I have to admit I misunderstood the correct usage for the Filter Editor. I would still love to see this implemented in some way at the Fill an Stroke dialog (if just for simpler method and to optimise my work flow), but for the moment I have what I need. :D
