@JazzyNico - maybe my question wasn't clear: I'd only add a second python script 'eps2pdf-ext.py' called by the already existing 'eps_input.inx' instead of 'ps2pdf-ext.py' - otherwise nothing would change: no new file type needed, and the same Import dialog opens, showing the preview of the EPS file, with the same options as currently.

The result would be that the complete content of the EPS file is imported, and no longer clipped or cropped to US Letter by ps2pdf.
