Hi, I'm reviving this thread because we are using Inkscape a lot in our work instead illustrator, Flash or Corel and there is some artists here at the studio that still using Flash for Vector drawing, because it's easier than Inkscape's workflow.
I was trying to use Inkscape for the same and natural way to paint using this techniques and I came with this conclusion:
- Shift+Draw caligraphic/Brush Strokes are quite good enough already, but it lacks when trying to make new coloured shapes/strokes and, sometimes, gives some artifacts;
- Would be great to have the same boolean painting option like Flash brush painting. And if you pick the same color, will join the shape without holding shit (avoiding this unconfortable blocking design);
- The Sculpt tool is a great addition, but feels it lacks at a consistent workflow/pipeline for painting vectors without using the edit tool (no slow bezier editing), making more natural for the artist to draw.

It looks I'm putting Inkscape down, but it is not true. I LOVE Inkscape. I forgot how to use Corel or Illustrator because it is so easier to make my art on Inkscape! As the artists says here: Blender and Inkscape are easier to replace 3dMax and Illustrator than Gimp replacing Photoshop. So true! But we talk about the inkscape workflow and we agreed to ask you if it is possible to enhance those tools, to approach to the Flash painting workflow. I only compare with it because the natural way to paint vector that they have.

I hope It is important to someone else, mainly the developers!! ;)
I can help with any information, documentation, planning, what else that is reachable to me to help develop it. Feel free to contact me for anything, even to invite to have a beer! :)
