Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open Inkscape
2) Select a box using the mouse on the paper

Inkscape aborts, sometimes locking up X at the same time. This in .xsession-errors:

** ERROR **: Failed to register GObject with DBusConnection
aborting...

Emergency save activated!
Emergency save completed. Inkscape will close now.

Screenshot showing action performed just below crash. This is the only action I've performed after opening Inkscape.

Same crash on standard gnome desktop. (lucid).

You get the same error if you open inkscape and drag a bitmap into it.

Possibly same issue as described (and "solved" by uninstalling conflicting "Ubuntu Netbook Edition" packages) in bug #601120 “Inkscape aborts when i use the elipse tool”: <https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/601120>
