can't vertically center text in text box

Bug Description
I am trying to vertically center text that has been "flowed into a frame" (or even text that is simply in a text box). I don't see a feature for this in the current Inkscape version. I would like to submit this as a new feature request. I would imagine that such a feature would be added to the "Text and Font" dialog. There are some workarounds to this issue, such as adding line feeds to the text, or using the "Align and Distribute" feature. However, these workarounds can be quite time consuming.
I'm using Inkscape 0.47 on a Debian squeeze/testing GNU/Linux system.
