thank you for the info. I removed the driver and it seems to be working but i will try installing again. Have a good day..... Laurie

I had a similar problem when trying to use my mouse after adding a
tablet to my computer.  Went to File->Input Devices and noticed my mouse
was set to disabled. Changed it to screen, and everything seems to work
fine now.

Status in Inkscape: A Vector Drawing Tool: New

Bug description:
Recently, after installing the latest stable version of Inkscape, most of the tools stopped working. I'm unable to select objects, use the text tools, draw or use most of the functions of the software. I deinstalled 4.7 and reinstalled 4.6 and had the same problem. Have deinstalled and reinstalled repeatedly and am unable to use Inkscape. I have been a happy user for some time but cannot, for the life of me, figure out what is going on with the software....
