@LucaDC - have you tried to lower the "Grab sensitivity" of the mouse pointer (tooltip: "How close on the screen you need to be to an object to be able to grab it with the mouse (in screen pixels)")? In my experience selection precision has improved after lowering it from default 8px to 4px.

Setting:
 Inkscape Preferences > Mouse > Grab sensitivity
