Addendum: this of course assumes that the required modules lxml and numpy are also installed via MacPorts (e.g. to use the latest versions instead of the rather outdated ones currently bundled with Inkscape (bug #448285)) - else setting 'DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH' is the only workaround I'm aware of to use the bundled modules with a recent python build from MacPorts, at least on Leopard (I do not have access to Snow Leopard to test).
