Nonsens. The specification not "requires" that!! You can read in chapter 2.1 only: "For an EPS file, the bounding box is the smallest rectangle that encloses all the marks painted on the single page of the EPS file". Every eps applications all over the world accepts a bigger bounding box than the image is...

I am the creator of the image and and I want say: "A white border of 5 mm is a essential part of my image"....
