Can't cancel object blurring

1. Mac OS X.

2. XWindows : enable "focus follows mouse"

3. Inkscape: select any object, open "Edit Object's colors, gradients...."

4. Place mouse on "Blur" slider widget

5. Try to scroll the UI using mouse scroll.

Instead of scrolling the whole user interface, blur slider catches the event and start to blur selected object, step by step. User can't cancel this operation.

Confirmed with 0.46 on Windows XP.
Inkscape 0.47 now behaves differently, and the slider no longer works step by step but adds a delay (half a second or so after the mouse stop) before catching the event.
You still can't "cancel" the operation, but at least it should be faster.

Could an OS X user confirm this?

OS X 10.5.8, XQuartz 2.4.0 (xorg-server 1.5.3-apple14)

1) The X11/XQuartz setting enable "focus follows mouse" (on or off) doesn't make a difference on my system.

2) Confirmed: the difference between 0.46 and 0.47pre4 (added delay & wait until dragging the slider or scrolling the mouse wheel has stopped before updating on-canvas), as well as that the operation can't be canceled once the blur value is changed.

3) I don't agree with the reporter's 'Instead of scrolling the whole user interface, blur slider catches the event…' implying a bug here - to me it makes sense that the scroll wheel event is caught by the GUI element the mouse pointer is hovering over. This behavior however is different from other (native) OS X applications.
