Bug Description

Inkscape is great and I really like using it, but when I export a png, it screws up my picture a little! For example, I have these reflection lines on the sides of the lettering, but when I export it, the png cuts off parts of the reflections for no reason! Also, I had this other picture with 3d lettering. It's perfectly round looking but when I export a png, a part of the 3d is blocky looking for no reason! The original svg file is perfectly round though. I've tried saving it over and over to png but it's not working... it still cuts off parts of my reflection and totally ruins the look of the image. I'm using version 0.46 on Ubuntu 8.10. Thanks

Do you still this issue with the current release version (Inkscape 0.47)? It would be really helpful to triage your report if you could attach example SVG files that expose your problems (filter-regions cut off, incorrect rasterization of vector objects, possibly also with filters applied?) when exporting to PNG.

Closing due to lack of feedback. Please reopen if the error this occurs in the latest stable release and attach a sample SVG file and exported bitmaps to allow further investigation.

I'm having this issue in v 0.48.2 r9819

Exporting to png results in strange results with at least 1 path. Seems to be affected by size of document. Exporting at 24x36in looks fine(Cannot find any defects), but resizing doc to 20x30in shows defect. Attaching svg, bad, and good png.

This is the 20x30 file displaying the error. Examine Pete's right eye compared to svg.

Here is the 24x36in version, which seems to have exported correctly.

As a final test, I exported 20x30 just as before, but increasing dpi from 90 to 100. The result was what appears to be an error-free export. See attachment.

My apologies - correction to the comment #8. The successful dpi was 91, not 100. It's also failing at many other DPI(~200ish), but oddly enough 182.0, which happens to be 91 multiplied by 2, comes out fine. Even stranger, 273(91x3) was not.

Reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2 on OS X Lion
No longer reproduced with Inkscape 0.48+devel r10836: the new renderer in current trunk exports bitmaps at various sizes and dpi levels without rendering errors (only partially filled paths).

Based on the attached sample in comment #5 linking as duplicate to
Bug #189214 in Inkscape: “curve is exported badly (but displayed correctly)”

@Zach - since it is not clear whether Conan's example is actually the same issue as original reported (the requested sample files had never been provided), feel free to reopen it if you can attach the original SVG file(s) and sample bitmap exports based on which the report had been filed.
