I'm changing the title of the report because that feature is already implemented in node tool (F2) and what A. Janke is asking for is more like a console to introduce commands (like in many CAD software).
dopelover: since what you asking for is rather different you should report that feature as a new report. Let's keep this one about the commands console. Open another for the on-canvas node coordinates.
