Bug Description
It is very common situation to have a path running along a guideline. The are set up to allow precisely that, have paths snap to them.
To add a node to such path, one has to hide guidelines first, because double clicking on the path will bring up the guideline property dialog, not add a node to the path. I suggest bringing up a guideline property dialog to use a different method/shortcut (Ctrl+doublecli
Can't reproduce on pre4. The node tool has a hit region several pixels wider than a guide so when both are superposed it's always possible to click the guide (if you place the cursor precisely over it) or add a node (double clicking a bit above or below the guide). Maybe this has been solved on the 0.47 development cycle.
