load the attached file and start doing calligraphic strokes, watching the terminal; sooner or later you will see a warning of "Failed to create path: invalid data in dc->cal1 or dc->cal2" and one of the strokes will fail to create an object.

Not reproduced with bzr rev9032 and 0.47 on Ubuntu 9.10 (I stopped after about 300 strokes...).
Do you still have this bug?

Original by Alvin Penner:

reproduced on Windows 7, Inkscape 0.48.2, using a blank drawing and the calligraphic tool. Get multiple warnings as below. The trick seems to be to use very short strokes, clicking the left button on and off quickly.

** (inkscape.exe:3284): WARNING **: Failed to create path: invalid data in dc->cal1 or dc->cal2

** (inkscape.exe:3284): WARNING **: Failed to create path: invalid data in dc->cal1 or dc->cal2

In reply to comment #8:

Yes, it is like you describe: I´ve also catched it, but my internet connection broke down.

I´ve done it in a way, that I paintet with long stronks over and over and shorten them over time(all in the same direction). Then clicking very fast on the center of this.

It seems to be like that, that when you hit with clicking one of the border lines of the strokes(probability is high in the center) the warning comes up. -> I have this way easy around 30 warnings.
