Bug Description

Problem Statement:
I want to change a particular property of several paths which I have selected. For instance, I may wish to change all widths to 2pt.

The problem is when "other" properties are set differently between the two.

So, if path 1 has a width of 4 and a line-style of dotted
and path 2 has a width of 4 and a line-style of solid,

If I change Width to 2, both the width AND line-style change.

Proposed solution:
Modify the fill and stroke dialog behavior.
- only apply the changed property (and not all properties) to the selected items
- If items selected have a particular property different, "clear" or somehow indicate that there is no common value for that particular property.

As an example of the second request, if two paths have different widths, then that text box is empty. The user is free to enter a value which will then be applied to all selected paths.

This bug/enhancement seems very similar to: Bug #165666. However, I could not tell from the bug listing what version was fixed. It also appears that they made a very specific fix. I am asking for a general behavior change for the fill and stroke dialog.

I'm using the current stable release .45.1

You can change stroke width only by right-clicking the stroke width indicator in the statusbar, to the right of the S: swatch, and choosing from the menu.
