I use inkscape to convert photo and clip are into svg file so I can cut them in design space on my criciut.  it just stop working while i converting photo for a project.  Trace bitmap doesn't come up at all.  attach are some photo that used in inkscape and some svg files I have made.  The one save in my computer are not dowloading into design space at all now since I try removing and adding inkscape back onto my computer.

not sure why, but I am not able to download any of your attachments.
similarly I am not able to open them, either, when I double click on them in the webpage

try using the "add attachment" button, and then browse to the file, and confirm that these files can be opened before attaching them

as far as I can tell, these files all consist exclusively of paths, meaning that they have already been successfully converted.

Do you have any examples of cases where the conversion has failed?

Correct they all converter, but now no matter what I put in Inkscape clip art or photo trace bitmap doesn’t work at all. Plus the old svg and even ones I had down from someone else are not going in design space, it say file not expected. Thank you for your help.

Before I started having problem, I was able to take a photo or clip art upload into inkscape.  Would click on the photo then click on trace bitmap.  and say how many color there were.  From there I press ok.  Then get rid of original photo.  Click on the photo ungroup it.  Then I would have for ex two layer.  For photo I choice the best layer, save then up load it into cricut design space to be cut out.  If it clip art and I wanted to have color  I would usually save the black color layer and then fill in the spaces to reproduce the art again, then dowload into design space to be cut. What is happening now when I click on the photo, I go and click design space and nothing happening at all.   After trying remove and reload inkscape now all my svg even ones that I did not convert in inkscape are no longer opening in cricut design space.

thank you for the bitmap files. I tried the trace bitmap on both of them and both appear to work normally as far as I can tell. (using Windows 10 and Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06))

It looks as if there are multiple issues here. With respect to the operation of trace bitmap it might be helpful to know what was the previous version of Inkscape that you were using, which worked correctly. Have the default values changed since then, or has the user interface changed since then? For example, here is a picture of the parameter values I am using, which I believe are the default values. This is a picture of what I get for the jpeg file preview after pressing the update button.

With respect to the operation of the cricut machine, it might be more helpful to post a question on one of the forums that specialize in cutting and plotting, for example,
